Who Is Arthur Hofn? … and why should I care?

I love books, so do lots of other people. This is a place for me to share my passion and positively recommend some of my favourites. I’ve also written a few of them so it’s also a place to discuss the madness of the world of being a writer, which I unashamedly call myself.

The fact is it’s not easy to get your voice heard. There are so many other people all doing the same and then only so much time in the day and resources we can use. I’ve created this because I’m learning from others. They have blogs, so I thought I’d have a go. How bad can it be? Don’t answer that.

As a matter of honesty my name is not really Arthur Hofn. It’s a pen name because I believe writing lets readers into your personal world, even subconsciously – in fact mainly subconsciously, so I’ve opted to be as anonymous as possible. Arthur ‘cos I love the name and Hofn because it’s a place in Iceland (actually Höfn or Höfn í Hornafirði) that means a lot to me.

Having said that here are some facts. I’m from Milton Keynes in South England but moved to Dublin when I was in my early twenties. I’ve spent most of my adult life there and so it’s the closest to a home city I have because I chose it and it’s where I became me. That’s not to say I’m not fond of Milton Keynes but for me it’s where I grew up and so should remain in my past.

I currently live in Milton Keynes.

As I’ve said I’ve written two books and some other stuff that I’m sure I’ll blog about later. I love travel and reading. I love photography… but there is a heartbreaking story I’ll save for a blog later; suffice to say I don’t do it so much anymore.

Why should you care about what I’m doing? Hopefully it’ll be interesting and you will like my novels and other stuff. But this is the start of a journey for me… let’s see how it goes.
